Great infographic. Great information in general. I am a recruiter for a company called Atypon Systems in Santa Clara California. We specialize in the semantic Web, linked data, open data and big data within the digital publishing space.
Every college in the United States that has a major tech presence should be focusing on these technologies.
Europe is all but leaving us behind in the semantic Web war. The US does not want to turn into Microsoft in the linked data fight in the next 5 to 10 years. There’s no need for it.

As an educator, I believe it is very important to teach material that is important for the future of the students. When inventing my math and memory system Brainetics (http://www.brainetics.com), I wanted to focus on new subjects and innovative methods to teach. By teaching for the 21st century, students will be more prepared in the future. It seems like so many aspects of today’s society centers around the digital environment and teaching should be altered to adapt.
Great article,
